The origin

Santana and Quintina.
The name says it all.

In 2018, Óscar, Gerardo, Antonio and Luis — four friends bound by blood, friendship and vision — came together with a clear purpose: to honour their grandparents Santana and Quintina by bringing to life the 70 hectares of land they inherited in Tlatlaya, State of Mexico.

Those lands, worked with love and silence for decades, held the potential of something extraordinary. The four partners, with established lives in Mexico, the United States, Portugal and Germany, decided it was time to plant the future in the soil of the past.

The road to Oaxaca

Forged in the
cradle of mezcal.

That same year, the Mezcal Denomination of Origin expanded to certain municipalities in the State of Mexico. Though the official appellation took until 2025 to materialise, this opening ignited the dream of creating a mezcal that would connect past, present and future.

While awaiting official recognition, they began their journey in Oaxaca — the spiritual and historical home of mezcal — working side by side with master distillers in Sola de Vega and Yautepec. There the first bottles of OGAL were distilled: the result of a unique blend of ancestral tradition and contemporary vision.

The initials of a dream.

OGAL is not just a brand name. It is the acronym of the four founders: Oscar, Gerardo, Antonio, Luis. Four perspectives of the world, four commitments to the land, one single bottle that represents them all.

Thus Casa Santa Quinta was born — the tribute to Santana and Quintina — and with it OGAL Mezcal: a brand that distils roots, purpose and community. Each bottle is an act of memory, a commitment to the land and a promise planted in the hearts of those who believe the future can also be cultivated.
